오늘은 엠버의 근본이 되는 AMDH(ambere design house)를

소개 시켜드리려고 해요.

엠버 디자인 하우스는 마르디 엠버에서

출시하는 모든 의상을 디자인하고 있어요.

업계 글로벌 트렌드에 대해 스터디 하고

마르디 엠버 디자인의 방향성을 연구하고,

다양한 크리에이티브를 만들어내는 곳이죠.

아동복에 국한 되어있어 보이지만

아동복 그 이상의 영역까지도 함께 고민합니다.

가족과 함께 하는 문화를 사랑하고

부모로서의 삶을 응원하는 현장인거죠.

AMDH에는

마르디엠버, 비엔어비엔, 피치스, 구투삼 브랜드팀이

함께하고 있어요.

지금까지 하우스에서는 무수하게 많은 브랜드가 함께 했었는데요.

혹시 기억하시는 분들이 계실까요?

아니카, 스웨번, 스콘, 네레고조, 12G59등

자체제작 브랜드부터 수입 브랜드까지,

지금은 만날 수 없지만 많은 분들이 애정해주셨던 브랜드이지요.

디자인하우스의 의미있는 시도와 도전의 산물이기도 하지요.

의견 공유회

디자인 하우스에서는 시즌 전, 후로 출장을 다녀온 후

함께 모여 이야기를 나누는 문화가 있어요.

디자인 한 의상에 대한 피드백 뿐 아니라 느꼈던 감정,

순간까지도 공유하는 자리예요.

우린 그 모든 것을 영감, 인사이트로 보거든요!

그 날에는 니트팀과 패턴사님도 함께 시간을 갖는데요.

특히나 디테일왕 니트팀의 이야기는

섬세해서 끝까지 집중해서 듣게 된답니다.

회의에 참석해 구성원들의 인사이트를 듣고 있다보면

아동복 회사가 맞을까? 라는 호기심이 생길 만큼

패션에 대한 관점이 예리하고,

여러 의견에 대해 수용하는 범주가 넓다는걸 알 수 있어요.

그리고 옷과 아이들을 소중하게 생각하고

예쁜것에 대해 진심이라는 것도요.

핸드 드로잉

디자인하우스를 둘러보면 재미있는 특징을 발견할 수 있어요.

룸 사인, 즉 팻말이 없다는 거예요. 손으로 하는 작업을

사랑하는 디자인하우스답게

핸드 드로잉으로 표시되어 있다는걸 볼 수 있어요.

손수 쓴 표시를 이곳 저곳에서 볼 수 있답니다.

창문부터 거울까지 그녀의 손길이 안 닿은 곳이 없지요. 

디자인하우스 총괄 실장님의 소품 사랑

총괄 실장님이 20대부터 애정으로 모으신

빈티지 소품은 하우스의 큰 자산이기도 해요.

그러다보니 빈티지의 동향은 물론이고 해외 현지 어디를 가야

원하는 빈티지들이 있는지까지도 예리하게 알고 계셔요.

미니어쳐, 오래된 책, 패브릭, 가구 등 여러 아이템들을

하우스 곳곳에서 볼 수 있어요.

하얀 5층 건물에 멋드러진 핸드 드로잉과

빈티지소품으로 꾸며진 디자인하우스만의

따뜻한 분위기가 있다보니 예전엔 패션드라

 촬영장으로 섭외가 들어오기도 했답니다.

디자인하우스 에피소드

디자인하우스 구성원들이 우리의 영감의 원천은 간식이라고

입 모아 말할 만큼, 우리는 간식에 진심이예요.

손수 만들어주시는 간식은 바쁘게 흘러가는 업무일정 속에

크리스마스가 되면 회사 출입구 마다 트리와 가렌더가 걸려있고,

한쪽엔 포토존도 만들어져있답니다.

또 크리스마스와 어울리는 간식도 함께 있구요.

춥다 싶으면 따뜻한 오뎅이, 덥다 싶은 에이드가.

총괄 실장님께서 맛집을 다녀오셨다? 빈손으로 오시지 않고

꼭 사내 식구들 몫까지 사오신답니다.

그래서 하하호호 웃을 때도 있지만 시즌

 앞두고는 집중, 몰두하느라

정적이 흐르기도 하는 현장이기도 합니다.

새로 선보일 의상을 위해 몰입 하거든요.

그러다가도 아이들과 촬영할 땐 꺄르르 웃음이 가득하고요.

디자인 하우스 구성원들은 각자 업무를 하면서

힘이 들 때도 있지만

고객님들이 올려주시는 후기와

댓글에 힘을 내며 일한다고 해요

Design with Roots, AMDH (Amber Design House)

Hello. It is Amber here.

Today, I will introduce to you Amber’s roots—AMDH (Amber Design House) Amber Design House designs all items released by Mardi Amber. It studies global trends, as well as the direction of Amber and creates. Although it may seem to be limited to children’s wear, but it goes beyond that. It creates culture with family and encourages and loves parents. AMDH works with Mardi Amber, Bien a Bien, P-chees and 9 to 3. There are many brands created here. Do you perhaps remember Anika, Sweven, Scone, Neregozo, 12G59 and etc…? Brands that were created and imported—now, they cannot be found, but were greatly loved. It is a design house that is meaningful as it seeked on many challenges and is a gift. It is team that shares good ideas and gives and receives inspirations.

Sharing Ideas

A culture has been created, going on business trips before and after the collection, we gather at the design house and sharing what we have seen. It is not just feedback on one outfit, but we even share emotions that we felt at that moment. We see all of that as insight and inspirations! The knit and patterning team gather and share their ideas. It is so detailed that we are all so focused. After the meeting, it makes us think, ‘are we a children’s wear brand?’ To that extent, we have a keen eye on fashion and have wide embracement on different things. We value children’s clothing and what we think is to be beautiful.

Hand Drawing

Looking around the design house, there are many interest things. There are no room signs. It is all done by hand. The design house loves work done by hand. One can find handwork done by the art director here and there. From the windows to the mirrors. It is as if K-Banksy has passed. In the house, there are many interior elements, as much as the people there. The vintage furniture is what the director had collected since her 20’s from Paris, London, Japan and etc… Studios are rented, but there are many times that we decorate our own space.

The Love of Interior Elements of Design House’s Chief Director

The vintage furniture that the director had collected since her 20’s is a great asset of the house. Thus, she knows where Asian and international vintage items are from very well. Miniatures, antique books, fabrics, furniture and etc… can be seen here and there. As a 5 story design house with hand drawings and vintage elements—there had been a request for it to be used as a location for a fashion drama.

It is not a meal, but a snack. Our inspiration comes from snacks. It is 99% hand made. Before Covid19, we often had BBQ for lunch. As we are full, the only thing left is for us to work hard!

Design House Episode

We are quite serious about snacking to the point where all the members of the design house would say that the source of inspiration is from snacks. From the door, there are handmade snacks, and when Christmas season arrives, the Christmas tree and garland is decorated—becoming a photo zone. If it is cold, hot soup is prepared. If it is hot, refreshing ade is prepared. If the chief director has gone to a famous restaurant, she does not come empty handed, but brings back treats for the family.

That is why there are many times of great laughter, but when launching season approaches, everyone is focused and concentrated. Then, when we have photo shoots with children, there are giggles and laugher all around. The team members of the design house do their part and gain strength when we receive positive feedback.
